As part of our commitment to the Cummins "hire to develop" strategy, we are offering students within their penultimate study year the opportunity to complete a 12 month, fully paid industry based learning program. This program has opened up many doors for undergraduates for more than 20 years, offering a wide range of hands on skills that are easily transferable into any workplace to really kick start your career.

Working closely with our Quality Engineers, you will be contributing to key department within Cummins who have the responsibility of controlling product and process standards across the business. In this 12 month position, you will be given broad involvement in a number of important projects and be able to take the lead in managing your own assignments too. This is an exciting opportunity to turn the learnings from your study into practical work experience which relates to your chosen field.

We are looking for someone with the ability to listen, learn quickly and run with new processes quickly. To do well in this position, you will be able to problem solve and have strong analytical skills. This is a hands on role that will see you being actively involved with the operation and a high level of team work and participation is required to achieve the desired outcomes.

To be successful, you will be:
  • An undergraduate in their penultimate year of a Mechanical Engineering (or related) degree
  • Someone with a genuine interest in mechanics and engineering
  • An excellent communicator
  • A confident, outgoing individual who will engage with internal stakeholders
  • An organised self-starter who can show outstanding initiative with excellent attention to detail
  • A team player with a flexible attitude towards work
  • Able to use Microsoft Office to an intermediate level, in particular with the use of Excel
  • Full working rights in Australia
This is a 12 month, full time, paid placement and the successful candidate will be required to defer their studies for the duration of the program. Please apply online to be considered for this position.
