About the role

Reporting to the Manager Maintenance, the Superintendent Maintenance Analysis and Improvement will be responsible for leading a team of professional Engineers and technicians in the analysis, benchmarking and internal audit of Maintenance performance and identify and implement improvement initiatives to ensure maximum availability and equipment optimisation across site. This is a residential role on a 5/2 roster.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and mentor a team of professional Analysis and Improvement Engineers, Control System engineers, Condition monitoring technicians and the Longwall overhauls team to ensure delivery against performance targets;
  • Lead and manage detailed analysis of work processes, master data, maintenance history, and organisation design to identify improvement opportunities;
  • Drive lean projects across site to increase equipment availability, reliability and optimisation;
  • Lead the preparation of the Maintenance budget in collaboration with the maintenance leadership team;
  • Provide leadership to the development and improvement of maintenance strategies;
  • Coordinate the compilation of the portfolio of Maintenance improvement initiatives; and
  • Build, promote and encourage a step up culture within the department.

About you

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in engineering with a strong reliability background and an understanding of computerised maintenance systems and lean principals. You will utilise your excellent business acumen, relationship building and influencing skills in order to hold others to account. Your experience within a reliability role and identifying business improvement opportunities will ensure success in this role.

The nature of the role requires you to be a strong people leader, a forward thinker, process driven and outcome focused. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.

The role will be based at the Broadmeadow Mine and is a residential role with subsidised housing available in Moranbah with relocation assistance provided. There is also camp accommodation available if you live in the Bowen Basin. Please note this role is not a FIFO position.
