An experienced Chartered Structural Engineer is required to take a key role in our client's growing national Building Structures team. The successful applicant will be a competent building structures designer and must possess relevant Structural Engineering qualifications.|
We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact, so you will bring a track record of successful project delivery and an excellent grasp of building structures design with you.
You must be able to work within a national team environment and must be prepared to mentor other Engineers and Technicians working within the national Building Structures team, in addition to providing support to the Head of Building Structures based in our client's Cheshire office.
You will be expected to help drive growth within our Building Structures team and will be used to preparing fee proposals, planning work for technical colleagues and dealing directly with clients.
The Principal Structural Engineer:
Must be able to check others' work within a Quality Management System environment and will assist the Head of Building Structures with maintaining the QA standards within the national team.
Will be expected to provide plans of work for colleagues to deliver within budgetary restraints and to meet with Clients, Project Managers, Architects and other construction professionals.
Will be responsible for overseeing the production of 3d drawing models and managing/coordinating our input to major BIM projects, to deadlines agreed with the Head of Building Structures in Liverpool
Will be required to visit other Mouchel offices in the UK to liaise with technical colleagues and will be required to coordinate work between several design disciplines, including Architects, Landscape Architects, Civil & Structural and M&E Engineers, both in house and with other companies
A sound knowledge of structural steelwork and concrete design to current British Standards and/or European Standards is essential.
A sound knowledge of CDM and UK construction techniques is also required.
The successful applicant will have worked within a professional Structural Engineering design office environment, designing building structures and performing the associated site and contract administration duties. Site and building survey experience is expected
