Exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join an energetic team where you will be recognised and rewarded for your hard work. The appointed Continuous Improvement Engineer will be given the opportunity to be involved in a large project with an organisation that are an industry leader in what they do.

This is a new vacancy due to growth within the business and is an excellent opportunity for the chosen candidate to join a well-established organisation and play a pivotal role in the future. The main responsibilities

Main Duties/Responsibilities

l Be responsible for implementing basic improvement tools, from 5S, 7 Wastes, Visual Management and Standardised Work balanced assembly lines where single (best) piece flow philosophies are employed
l Be the secondary contact and help co-ordinate any Lean improvement events, ensuring all necessary resources are made available for each activity
l Support the Manufacturing Cells with their recording, and analysis of production data, and ensure the correct focus is placed on the main issues arising
l Be supportive to all the Manufacturing Cells across the business in realising their Cell QCD objectives and production targets
l Be demanding in ensuring the availability of resources to achieve the expected results from any lean improvement activity
l Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering in implementing any required layout changes, ensuring both the facilities and maintenance teams are fully involved
l Help establish product cycle times and monitor actual performance against the standard with the key intent of reducing manufacturing labour content on those products identified by the Director of Operations
l Become actively involved in supporting the CI Manager and Operational Management teams in the implementation of their action plan
l Conduct regular Lean meetings to share information on expectations and progress with team members, and when required provide oral feedback on the performance of the events to the Director of Operations and Management team
l Be responsible for publicising the benefits and results of all improvement activities
