An opportunity to work with a high quality and established project and cost management service in the Manchester area. This businesses success is based on its excellent service delivery which has lead to a high level of repeat business. This company is currently expanding but still keeps its focus on the quality of its service and its customers satisfaction. This company has established its reputation working across a number of sectors including housing, residential, hotels, retail, commercial, infrastructure, leisure, education and health.

The role

This contractor work with a number of the UK's major house builders across the North West, this role will see you supporting the expanding services offered to these key clients. This role will be suitable for a experienced Senior Project Manager/Cost Consultant who is looking to work with an established team and become an integral part of the team assisting with the delivery of infrastructure and housing building projects. Typical housing projects will range from 500 to 1200 new units.

Key scheme elements:-
-Site remediation/ ground stabilisation
-Site re-grade/earthworks balance, cut and fill
-Installation of foul and surface water sewers
-Construction of on-site estate roads
-Off-site highways including 278 works
-Ecological works
-Structures (Bridges, culverts, retaining structures)
-Public realm, including LEAP's and NEAP's

-Preparing detailed budget cost models for infrastructure packages
-Produce and maintain development programmes
-Produce infrastructure design, e.g. tendering of design consultants
-Assisting with the consortium of the consultant appointment
-Liaison with other consultants and local authorities to secure relevant approvals
-Procure works packages utilising the NEC form of contract
-Contract administration in line with budgets including:
Reviewing contractor's applications for payments
Control variations, advise on impacts/work to minimise
Signing of variations and producing payment certificates
Monthly reporting and forecasting
Agreements of final accounts
-Delivery of works in accordance with development programmes
-Establish and chair fortnightly/monthly client steering group meetings
-Established relevant co-ordination meetings with stakeholders, LPA, Contractors

This role will be based from the Manchester office but will require some travel within the North West region.

Key Skill and Experience

-Excellent Project Management and Cost Management experience
-Proven track record
-Experience in the civils, infrastructure and housing sector
-Experience of major projects
-Ability to organise and chair meetings with director level clients and interact with them on a daily basis
-Good knowledge of civil engineering issues and potential solutions
-Methodical thinking
-Good construction knowledge
-Good financial and numeracy Management skills, Quantity Surveting experience may be benefitial
-Driving licence
