My client is one of the leading specialist contractors in UK construction, looking for a permanent Document Controller in Central London

The successful candidate will have experience in Construction, preferably within an administrative function and have an understanding of contractors' document management systems.

This role ensures that all key contract documentation is handled effectively within the project and that a good level of information distribution is maintained during and prior to the construction process.

To facilitate set up and operation of an effective information management system in conformance to the Company Quality Management System and main contractor's requirements

To conform to the main contractors specified electronic document management system if applicable

To receive all documentation from the main contractor and external sources via EDMS, hard copy issue, emails etc

To submit all documentation as required by project management to main contractor and maintain masterfile and register

To liaise with the project management to identify priorities and appropriate treatment of information incoming and outgoing

Organise copies of hard documents, incoming and outgoing and distribute quickly and effectively under a dayfile system

Continually update and maintain accuracy of information including drawing register, document submittal register, RFI register etc

Maintain effective security and archiving of all electronic and hard copy documentation

Maintain accurate records of the receipt and issue of transmittals

Validate currency of controlled documents for the construction team

Facilitate project management where possible in their duties
