Our client is a leading support services company with a substantial portfolio of Public Private Partnership projects and extensive construction capabilities who have built nearly £2Bn worth of infrastructure. In the UK, their principal market sectors are Defence, Education, Health, Facilities Management & Services, Rail, Roads, Building, Civil Engineering and Utilities Services.

Having recently secured a 10 year Public Sector Programme to deliver modern and flexible living accommodation schemes in the Wiltshire area, we have been asked to supply an experienced Commercial Manager to join the team.

Your duties will include:

- Ensure that the health, safety, environmental and quality standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to throughout the team at all times
- Prepare and deliver the team business plan in conjunction with the Senior Managers to deliver or beat the company vision, strategy, business plan, values, strategic measures and annual budget
- Lead & manage the commercial team in co-operation with the Executive / Operations & Project Managers, ensuring that it is adequately resourced, led and managed to achieve targets and maintain high levels of commitment & morale
- Ensure that good two-way communication takes place with all staff; that they all understand their roles, responsibilities & performance expectations and operate competently; and that continuous development takes place through performance reviews, training, coaching and succession planning
- Prepare team financial reports & forecasts and present at the monthly Operations Review Meeting including variances between actual team monthly results and team business plan budget targets
- Attend monthly project reviews to monitor the accuracy of project status reports / CVR's including value & cost forecasts; review project and team performance; and ensure that project teams receive adequate challenge, support and guidance
- Monitor all significant project issues and correspondence to ensure that all necessary contractual processes have been observed, notices issued, records kept and documents stored by the team to protect the company's position
- Ensure that cash, cost forecasting, management and payment procedures are followed throughout the team and on all projects
- Ensure cash is maximised within the team and on projects, without compromising on contractual arrangements and relationships with either customers or subcontractors & suppliers, including through the prompt agreement of final accounts and receipt of retention payments
- Provide key relationship management to subcontractors that may have been personally allocated, including collating company feedback and holding regular review meetings
- Manage final accounts, retention and debt issues to successful resolution
