This Technical Services Manager role is a very exciting opportunity for someone looking for the next step in their careers. Working within one of the largest Building Services companies the Technical Services/ Engineering Manager will have many opportunities to progress their career further.


Planning and allocation of resources on site including the control and issue of materials and equipment.
Maintaining the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Statutory Compliance Programme for the services under their control.
Manage, coordinate and issue all PPM's to their Maintenance Teams and achieve the agreed SLA's.
Collating completed PPM worksheets and reviewing for any additional works identified therein.
Updating Asset Registers when equipment is replaced as part of Life Cycle or Small Works Programme for the site.
Training and support of operatives and guidance in using correct methods and procedures including Health and Safety requirements and welfare of staff.
Participate in the Health and Safety Policy of the company and report to the General Manager regarding any dangers; hazards or other defects/issues that may be encountered.
Maintaining ongoing service performance through service and performance reviews including the undertaking of performance reviews / appraisals.
To develop a detailed knowledge of contract specification, work area and work schedules and to allocate and organise staff duties to conform to the service specification.
Responsible for managing budgets relating to their services and reporting.
Assisting in the recruitment of team members as and when required.
Carry out regular site audits.
Ensure the appropriate response is given to the priority levels of service requests especially avoiding the financial penalties imposed by failed KPIs.
Minimise disruption to the clients business and maintain the required availability of the key functional areas throughout their estate.
Maintain good working practices to enhance asset value and promote a positive image of both the client and Interserve.
Undertake and report Service audits and H&S Check sheets, recording and reporting results.
Develop and take duty of care for the Maintenance Teams on a daily basis.
Assist Maintenance Teams in any daily issues in delivery of the maintenance service.
Authorisation and reporting of annual leave and organisation of appropriate staff cover.

Knowledge skills & experience:

Substantial quantifiable and demonstrable experience in a similar role.
Recent successful experience of Hard services role on large PFI contract.
Extensive experience of Management dealing with sub-contractors and supply chain within a complex multi faceted operation.

Proven track record in successful people management including performance management and familiarity with operational HR process and procedure.
Detailed operational understanding of facilities maintenance and building services within a client focused environment.
Experience in the Mechanical, Fabric or Electrical aspects of general building PPM schedules.
Experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification.
Building Management Systems experience.
Mechanical or Electrical Apprenticeship, 17th edition IEE, C&G 2391, BTEC & HNC or similar
