The role encompasses elements of technical assistance for attorneys, notably in the initial training period during which time you will begin preparation for your qualifying exams or receive coaching to complete further stages of the qualification process if you are part-qualified. You will work closely with associates and partners from the get go and will gain the expertise required to pursue a fulfilling career within the intellectual property industry.

The firm in question is among the most reputable law firms in France, and has won many awards for its work within the IP sector. Over time they have gained a reputation for providing outstanding training for their staff, this is something that trainee attorneys particularly benefit from. They work across a variety of sectors, but their telecommunications department in particular is seeing exponential growth in its workload which is why they are seeking to bring in a further member of this team.
The successful candidate will have an excellent educational background and will have studied physics or engineering at degree level. During your time studying you will have gained knowledge of telecoms technologies. It would be advantageous if you have technical knowledge of the area both in English and French. Unfortunately individuals who studied Law at undergraduate level and who do not have a technical background such as the one detailed above will not be considered for the role.
As a trainee patent attorney at this leading firm you will be required to communicate in French and English, both internally and with clients, therefore you will need to either be bilingual or have an excellent level in both languages. Further languages are also desirable, notably Chinese, Japanese and Korean, though this is not essential.
