Our client develops the Virtual Environment, the world leading building simulation software which enables their clients to design high quality and innovative buildings whilst minimising the impact on the environment. The Virtual Environment is the only tool which allows building designers to simulate the full performance of their design. They are recruiting three Software Developers to join their development team in their Glasgow HQ.
The successful candidates will be working within a dynamic software team developing web based solutions to monitor and analyse live building data.
The day-to-day workload will involve developing new products and features as well as maintaining the current modules, participating in code reviews and providing input to the product documentation.
The successful candidate will work between several SCRUM teams; therefore they are looking for candidates who have a diverse range of skills. If you have a strong combination of any of the following skills, then they would love to hear from you.
The essential skills for the role are:
* A degree in computing, physics or a related scientific degree
* At least one year's commercial experience of developing software
* Experience of using Microsoft Visual Studio
Candidates with one or more of the following skills will be at an advantage so please let us know if you have any relevant experience of them:
* Data visualisation using d3, jQuery, CSS
* Data driven UI
* Cross platform responsive web UIs
* REST APIs
* Use of design patterns
* HTML (use of Widget Libraries)
* Knowledge of Typescript
* Spatial DB
* HATEOAS, HAL driven APIs
* Web security techniques
* Experience with Agile development practices and Scrum methodologies
* Knowledge of MFC, STL and BOOST
* An understanding of source code control systems
* Knowledge of the uses of xml and xml style sheet transformations
* Experience of using OpenGL/DirectX or other 3D platforms
