Our client is a leader in global digital services and they are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect to join their team on a permanent basis. The role has the scope for the successful candidate to work from home with 2/3 days in their offices based in Birmingham. Along with having proven experience working within commercial, public and/or industrial sector, our client is seeking someone technical minded with a strong sales ethic. The successful candidate needs to work well in a team with a creative mind as well as keeping a strong client focus throughout.

Providing subject matter expertise in the design, deployment and exploitation of the specified cyber security technologies, the successful candidate will be involved with early engagement with sales and solutionings teams to identify, qualify and shape sales opportunities and bids for cyber security.

The successful candidate will be responsible for -
- Be accountable for and lead teams working within the area of Security Portfolio deployment and exploitation
- Identify opportunities to promote BDS cyber security capabilities during client dialogue sessions
- Assist with transition into operational service
- Represent the operation and portfolio where required to project/sales teams and clients
- Identify opportunities or new business where appropriate
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and developments
- Develop cross Service-Line relationships at a peer-group level to facilitate interworking and efficiencies
- Identify opportunities for diving automation and other process efficiencies with respect to Security Portfolio and Stakeholder engagements
- Take ownership of the solution and the transfer of this into the Engineering function
- Ensure technical designs are aligned to technology standards and any exceptions are approved
- Ensure all technical artefacts including designs are peer reviewed through the appropriate technical design authority
- Accountable for the development and maintenance of said technical artefacts within subject matter expertise area
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through sharing and leverage of information across the Cyber Security team with the purpose of gaining efficiency in the end-to-end solution process
- Participate in and comply with the BDS Deal Assurance processes
- Provide weekly reporting to the Cyber Security Architecture & Design Manager
- Understand the delivery cost base of all project engagements and BAU services
- Ensure timely transition of services to Operational state so as to maximize commercial recovery for BDS
- Provide technical input to bids when required
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of relevant security technologies
- Ensure appropriate level of training is provided to all security operations staff on new and existing products and services
- Assist with mentoring and training of junior staff

To perform the above requirements, it is essential that you have experience in the following -
- Information security professional with proven experience working in commercial, public and/or industrial sectors
- Demonstrable understanding of information security requirements and capabilities across different industries
- A depth of information technology experience
- Experience in design and deployment of some or all of the following technologies:
Endpoint, network and infrastructure threat protection
SIEM - Security information and event management
APT - Advanced Persistent Threat detection
DLP - Data loss prevention
VA - Vulnerability Analysis and mitigation
PKI - Public key infrastructure
Secure networks, flow monitoring and application control
Server hardening
Securing virtual environments
Security auditing and operational controls
Security auditing and technical controls
- Experience with managing penetration testing engagements and advising accordingly
- Ability to take 'hands on' approach and involvement in deployment where required
- Ability to write and review reports, procedures and standards
- Atos Unified Engineering Methodology certified to highest level

Along with the essential skills, any of the following is highly desirable -
- Industry recognised security qualification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISACA, CEH, CompTIA Security+, etc.)
- Industry recognised technology certification (e.g. MCSE, CCDP, CCIE, RHCA, etc.)
- Awareness of UK government protective marking standards
- Awareness of industry standards, including PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, GPG 13, etc.
- Awareness of common exploits and vulnerabilities
- Solid network engineering and server architecture awareness
- Previous hands on experience in network/server and security operational roles
- IT Security pre-sales experience
- Previous information security management experience
