Who will I work for and what will I do?|
Reporting to the Senior IT Services Administrator this is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic people to kick start their career within the information technology industry.
The IT technician apprenticeship role will include:
Working with clients to understand details of faults
Resolving faults and explaining to the client the work you have carried out
Fixing and maintaining equipment, such as printers, laptops, scanners and PC's
Assisting with system upgrades and setting up new devices
Recording problems within CRM systems so that task histories can be reviewed
Providing excellent customer service
Identifying the need for system and equipment updates
This is a Microsoft endorsed IT apprenticeship, so you will also be working towards becoming a Microsoft Certified Professional. This is an exciting opportunity for the ideal IT Apprentice to achieve a suite of professional certificates, accredited by leading software giant Microsoft.
You will need to be able to demonstrate both written and verbal communication skills as well as strong IT skills and problem solving. As well as a keen interest in the information technology industry, with a willingness to learn and a can do attitude.
Successful apprentices will be based within an office and spend a lot of your time using a computer.
What training will I receive?

During your 12 or 18 month IT apprenticeship programme, Firebrand will provide residential training at our distraction-free training centre. Our method of accelerated training allows you to achieve industry-recognised certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL and Microsoft faster, giving you more time to put your new skills in to practice within a working environment. Firebrand will also provide you with a Mentor who will be supporting and assisting you with your development. By the end of your 12-18 month apprenticeship, in addition to having numerous industry recognized qualifications, a steady career with a supportive employer, you will also be recognised by the British Computer Society (BCS) for entry onto the register of IT Technicians, confirming SFIA level 3 professional competence.
What experience do I need?
At least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including Maths, English and either IT or Science.
What happens after my apprenticeship?
Successful apprentice will have the opportunity for a permanent position following the programme
