Senior Analyst Developer - Bexhill-on-Sea

Reports To: Application Developer Manager

Training given on Digital & Guidewire Development, utilising existing Microsoft .NET C# and Microsoft SQL Server development skills.

Responsible for supporting and delivering high quality software changes across systems and platforms.

Responsible for working across all aspects of the software development lifecycle with a specialism in one or many of the following areas: systems analysis, design, development, and build / deployment activities to deliver enhancements and maintenance changes.

Will also be required to have a good level of understanding and experience in business requirements gathering and quality assurance testing processes to support the change process.

To be able to operate within Agile teams across application support and change functions, providing strong communication, collaboration and problem solving skills.

Providing software leadership, coaching and guidance to other team members and suppliers as part of any change or support related activities.

To help define, improve and operate internal policies and procedures, also identifying and leading improvements to continually improve the quality and speed of the work delivered.

Provide the current and future skills needed by continually developing their professional skills in line with internal and external IT related best practices.

Provide an effective and professional working relationship with internal colleagues and external suppliers.


Designs large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.

Creates, amends and keeps track of programs in accordance with the design.

Plans, designs and conducts tests of programs; corrects errors and re-tests to achieve an error-free result.

Documents all work in accordance with agreed standards.

Conducts reviews of supplied specifications, with others as necessary.

Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work.

Provides guidance and assistance to colleagues in any aspect of program design, creation, testing and documentation.

Takes part in evaluations and reviews of programming methods, tools and standards.

Ensures that self (and any direct reports) are meeting customers' fair and reasonable expectations and provide fair outcomes. Questions and challenges peers and managers where processes and procedures do not meet these expectations and where any activity does not place customers' interests at the heart of how we do business.

Responsible for the effective identification, management and reporting of risk within your area of responsibility.

Ensures there is appropriate debate, discussion and challenge of risks within your areas of responsibility. Enhances the risk management culture within your area for the effective identification, management and reporting of risk within your area of responsibility.

Ensures completion of all training as mandated by the company and regulated by the FCA. Ensures that direct reports self-achieve and demonstrate levels of competence required to fulfil job requirements.
