The Company

Our client is a giant within the FMCG market. Producing millions of tons of product every year, they are a market leader within their sector. Having recently invested £3 million in a large scale expansion of their production equipment and an internal promotion, they now require a new Engineering Manager to head up their Engineering Department.

Alongside investment in the plant, the business has also recently upgraded their Computerised Maintenance schedule to help them drive efficiency within the site as part of an ongoing Continuous Improvement initiative across their 20 UK manufacturing plants.

The Role

With two Maintenance Supervisors reporting directly into them, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the Engineering team. This would include running of the new Computerised Maintenance System, leading Continuous Improvement Projects on site, overseeing the installation of new plant equipment and manage department budgets.

The business has been investing heavily in making their production processes more efficient across their various site. This is not only in terms of better, more modern production lines, but also through LEAN manufacturing methods. The Engineering Manager would be responsible for identifying areas for improvement, putting together a corrective action plan and then overseeing its implementation alongside other Departmental head. This would also include putting together training plans for employees for new ways of working and getting their buy in to the common vision.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

* Must have previous experience working as an Engineering Manager or Maintenance Manager.
* Must have experience working in an FMCG or high volume production environment.
* Must have experience with Continuous Improvement and LEAN manufacturing
