We are recruiting for an experienced Toolmaker to join a well established manufacturing company in the Whitstable area. You will be producing new and refurbished tooling and / or making improvements to tooling (both moulding and assembly of products) and developing new and innovative tooling to aid manufacture. Other tasks will include carrying out model shop activities for the support of development samples and tooling for NPI, machining tooling to exact tolerances and carrying out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.|
Qualifications should include a City and Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering or ONC or HNC level qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Time served apprenticeship within a tool making environment.
Experience working as a Toolroom Engineer, Toolroom Technician or Toolmaker.
Working knowledge and experience of mould tool manufacture.
Working knowledge and experience of assembly tool manufacture.
Working experience of CNC mills and lathes.
CAD/CAM knowledge and experience.
Knowledge of machining to exacting tolerances using various methods, i.e. grinding, turning and sparking, etc.
Knowledge of tool manufacture.
Ability to work to Engineering drawings.
Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
Knowledge of injection, transfer and compression moulding.
Skills and Competencies:
Ability to demonstrate skills required to produce detailed tooling (i.e. Milling, turning, grinding - cylindrical and surface, spark eroding and bench fitting.
Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Ability to develop ideas with other Engineers.
Working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm, salary dependent on experience.
