Responsible for the production of all design documentation as required


• Ensure that all aspects of the design and engineering works are carried out in a diligent and professional manner
• Liaise with other discipline designers to ensure all interfaces are adequately covered
• Production and checking of design calculations
• Production and checking of reports and specifications
• Production and checking of Data sheets, Design documents and raising of Requisitions
• Checking drawings, Schedules and MTOs
• Design direction and checking Instrumentation, control systems and vendor package equipment complies with company and project specifications
• Design direction and checking Instrument Cable Routing Drawings, Instrument Equipment Layout Drawings and Instrument Installation details
• Design direction and checking Control Systems Architecture Drawings and Instrument Block Diagrams
• Attendance at HAZOP, HAZID & SIL reviews and implementation of actions generated from these reviews
• Attendance at Factory Acceptance Tests (FATS) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATS) as required
• Abide by Company policies and procedures
• Take reasonable steps to protect the health and safety of yourself and other people, and comply with fire and health and safety policies at all times
• Promote the principles of the Company Equality and Diversity policy, treat people with courtesy, respect and consideration and conduct yourself professionally at all times
• Undertake any other reasonable duties which are requested by management



Extensive experience as an Instrument Engineer within the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries including Hazardous Areas (ATEX)

A working knowledge, based upon previous experience, of codes, standards and accepted working practices with respect to Instrument engineering in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries, including Cryogenic materials handling and storage

Extensive working knowledge of established Instrument engineering, within the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries, including Cryogenic materials handling and storage

Ability to read, understand and apply P&IDs into the Instrumentation designs

Experience working with overseas clients and external design houses

In depth background in Instrument design and engineering

A working knowledge of instrument design in accordance with both European and North American codes and standards

Proven experience working on projects as an Instrumentation & Control Engineer
