£50,000 - £60,000 Basic + 10% Bonus + Car Allowance

Based in West Yorkshire this global Manufacturing and Engineering company with a turnover approaching £250 million, focusing on industrial products including; pumps, turbines, gearboxes, power transmission, rotating equipment and drive units that has grown organically year on year offering an excellent career opportunity to continue driving this organic growth across the world. The company offer a full design, build and repair/MRO/aftermarket service working across a variety of sectors including: defence, mining, oil and gas, marine, power generation, cement, water, paper, steel and general manufacturing/engineering to name a few. They are one of the market leaders in this industry sector with manufacturing facilities on every continent.
This Purchasing Manager role reports directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be focused on leading the purchasing team across all of the direct and indirect categories including raw materials, parts and consumables as well as services and subcontract work with a total spend of approximately £35million.
As Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for the complete end to end supply chain of manufactured products managing a team of 15 staff. This is a varied role which requires a number of days per month visiting key suppliers across Europe.
What we are looking for:
Due to the nature of this role the ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills, experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing or supply chain, teamed with a purchasing background (Degree, HND, Apprenticeship or associated qualification). A CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.
Experience within industrial manufacturing is essential with experience in Pumps, Turbines, Industrial Gears, Gearboxes, Rotating Equipment or Power Transmission industry would be preferred. However any other technical equipment purchasing experience that is mechanically orientated will be considered.

• Team Management
• Supplier rationalisation
• Implement eastern European Supply Chain
• Minimise Supplier SDR
• Minimise Supplier Concession requests.
• Supplier visits including European travel
You will also be responsible for:
• Stores Control, Goods Inwards & Despatch control.
• Negotiate all major Contracts.
• Close cooperation with Quality.
• Monitor PO placement time.
• Work closely with Sales and proposals to win contracts through low cost sourcing.
• Work with Global Supply Chain Director and attend fortnightly Supply Chain Review with the MD.
• Attend monthly Management meetings and produce Supply chain update slides to present.
• Ensure Buyers clear invoices for period end
