CAD Technician required to join leading Electronics company based in Hereford offering competitive salary fantastic benefits package and terrific career progression.|
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist in the design and development of a range of modules and equipment, from simple metal housings to complex equipment accommodating multiple interacting modules housed in densely populated 19" rack mountable chassis.
Create 3D models for concept visualisation, proof of mechanical design integrity and manufacture purposes.
Produce 2D mechanical detail drawings of 3D parts to industry standards for manufacturing purposes.
Generate production build packs and enterprise data including BOMs and General Assembly drawings.
CAD Library administration including 3D models, symbols and PDM data entry
Produce panel artworks in collaboration with product champions and lead engineers.
Assist in the creation of shelf schematics, wiring diagrams and general assembly instructions under the supervision of a senior electro-mechanical engineer.
Working closely with Team Leader/Project leads for the scheduling and release of design documentation in accordance with the project plan
Liaison and working in partnership with colleagues of different disciplines as well as sub-contractors and suppliers.
Interpret and produce functional product block diagrams.
Work to given time lines, following ETL's procedures and processes such as mechanical, Artwork, PCB and assembly variant check lists etc.
Qualifications and Experience
HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject
Experience in using Solidworks for 2D/3D CAD in an Engineering environment
Able to generate manufacturing and assembly drawings to industry standards
Familiarity with ERP systems, BOM structure and design/production engineering procedures
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
Knowledge of electrical circuit theory and basic electronics
Familiar with PCB design and manufacturing techniques
