Sales Manager (Niche Capital Equipment)

Our client is a 'design and manufacture' SME based in Lincolnshire - looking to substantially grow the business and increase their sales turnover. They have over 30 years' experience of machine technology with current product ranges focussing on providing bespoke packaging solutions (conveyors, de-nesters, depositors, fillers, palletisers, lidding, labelling & rotary tables) to the food and process sectors

The role will initially cover past and present clients in the UK wide role. Responsible for new business opportunities and maximising sales revenue with the existing client base as well as new customers in new / existing market segments. This is a key role and the successful candidate will be responsible for all business development activities which will include delivery, on-going development and after sales customer support and services. The company is looking for a strong and dynamic Sales individual with a technical appreciation and who can drive the business forward with a "hands on and can do" business attitude.

Procuring Sales of all company standard projects and equipment within food and allied industries. Order value in the region of £2000 to £300,000.
Manage the full life-cycle of the sales process - full technical sales quotations and tenders.
Chairing Sales meetings.
Working alongside the Technical and reporting into the Managing Director.
Working alongside the marketing consultant in promoting and marketing the company within the confines of the sales and marketing budget.
Organising exhibitions, trade shows and company presentations.
Ensuring all paperwork i.e. full customer specifications and quotations, customer call sheets, reports, databases are kept up to date on the CRM system.

- Proven experience of solution selling within the niche capital equipment market (food packaging / automation equipment).
- Demonstrable track record of at least 3-5 years sales & account management. Experience of business development & relationship management is essential.
- Technical competence and although an engineering degree is not essential, a good technical understanding and appreciation is essential.
- Demonstrable evidence of developing relationships with key decision makers.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills (oral and written).
- A high energy personality who connects well with people.

You will need to be 100% customer focused, driven with a consistent sense of urgency to complete activities in a timely manner, be able to pay attention to the detail and be honest and reliable. Please note: experience of selling capital equipment is essential.
