CNC Programmer / Setter

Location: Banbury
Length: 6 months +
Rate: 11ph - 15ph

We are urgently looking for a setter/operator that has used Fanuc and Mazatrol (ideally a programmer but this is not essential). Designing jigs and fixtures as well as operating manual lathes and milling machines are not essential but highly desirable.
Shift: Double Days

Job Description Summary:
Operations are searching for a CNC Programmer / Setter responsible for completing the 'Production Orders' as quickly and cost effectively as possible. They will ensure the assistant has enough work and used effectively to maximize own through put.

Key Responsibilities:
• The work includes all machining operations, machine programming, machine set-up, material preparation etc.
• Safe and workman like approach to tasks

Able to Program, Set and Operate the following machines safely and in a timely manner:
• CNC lathes, (Fanuc and Mazatrol Controls
• CNC milling machines, (Mazatrol Controls)
• Operate Manual Lathes and Milling machines
• Use associated measuring systems
• Have the ability to work to production deadlines

• Support continuous improvement and ACE deployment through active participation on Lean Events, Workshops and Continuous Improvement activities. Proactively seek to identify opportunities for improvement

Job Holder Requirements:
• Able to write and read CNC programs, including Mazatrol and Fanuc CNC machine programs
• Able to independently design engineering jigs and fixture to enhance productivity
• Able to perform basic maintenance tasks
• Role requires self-motivation and initiative, as well as being able to motivate others in a professional manner
• Ability to be able to read, understand and follow SOP's (work instructions)
• Good communication skills
• Ability to identify and be able to question sub-standard process/product
• Problem solving techniques and ability to work on own initiative. (Logical and systematic approach)
• PC Literate
• Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills

Key EH&S requirements
• Adheres to Cardinal rules and relevant site specific safety requirements
• Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of themselves and that of their colleagues, raising hazards and issues to supervision where appropriate
• From time to time the successful candidate may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual and where necessary training will be given
