Adecco Durham are currently recruiting for a Procurement Specialist for our client in County Durham.
This is a full time permanent role Monday - Friday between the hours of 08:00- 18:00 with a salary of £40,000 dependant upon experience.
The ideal candidate would have experience with paint, ink, chemicals and coatings.
We would ask you are flexible and willing to travel.
*Ensure that all requisitions and other purchase documents comply with established processes, policies and procedures.
*Work with requestors to review supplier capabilities, pricing and secure the most favourable pricing and delivery schedules available.
*Identify and validate requirements to source materials and place purchase orders with specified suppliers for materials and services.
*Identify and implement ideas for cost savings.
*Develop negotiations plans and targets combined with service level agreements/metrics for assigned commodities.
*Work effectively as a team member to collaborate effective process improvement changes.
*Initiate, prioritise and lead multiple projects concurrently.
*Create reasonable project time lines and milestones as related to assigned commodities.
*Manage roles/responsibilities and provide clear guidance to others involved in projects.
*Leverage knowledge of the others to resolve issues or attain milestones.
*Keep management abreast of project status and critical milestones.
*Timely and efficient follow up of assigned projects.
*Consistently maintain integrity and professionalism while negotiating business requirements.
*Other duties and projects as assigned.
*Maintain continuous in-depth knowledge of market conditions, industry trends, and developing technologies to position cost effective strategies for assigned commodities.
*Resolving delivery and quality issues through root cause analysis and appropriate supplier escalations.

Qualifications and Experience:
*Bachelor's degree preferred, minimum Associate Degree
*Professional experience: 2-3 years in sourcing/procurement, preferably with experience in indirect and direct commodities and project management
*Knowledge of effective technology-driven sourcing processes
*Analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, MS Office Suites
*Related sourcing, purchasing, negotiating and expediting experience for MRO, with strong background in indirect materials
*Effective knowledge of indirect material processes in a large organisation.
*Project Management Skills (attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
*Exceptional customer service skills and experience
*Fluent in English both spoken and written
