To carry out engineering inspections and failure investigations and supplier audits to ensure consistent quality of goods and products within the business.
Ensure effective supply chain operation through supplier development and continuous improvement.
Collate and analyse all data found during the diagnosis of equipment failures, making recommendations where applicable to enable improved production practices.
Recommend actions to the Businesses resulting from the analysis of routine inspection reports to facilitate better business performance.
Conduct internal product quality audits against the requirements of the quality system, ISO9001 and customer specifications, highlighting areas of non-compliance and looking for improvements in engineering working practices.
Conduct finished work inspection of safety critical equipment, goods inward inspection, failure investigation of safety critical equipment, warranty failure diagnosis.
Day to day liaison regarding improvements to work practices.
The jobholder must be familiar with safety legislation that is relevant to his/her post and comply with the necessary statutory requirements. These will include but are not limited to the Transport and Works Act 1994, Health & Safety at Work Act, and the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and associated regulations.
Have ONC in either mechanical or electrical engineering and / or a minimum of five years relevant experience in an engineering discipline plus a proven track record in a quality control related role.
The post holder must be a qualified internal Quality Auditor.
Have highly developed written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal / organisational skills.
Be self-motivated, numerate, cost conscious and possess a high level of analytical skills.
