The primary function of the Maintenance Technician is the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components of production and facility equipment utilized in the manufacturing environment. Working as part of a team, the position involves the hands-on assembly and disassembly of component parts and machinery in accordance with diagrams, schematics, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for the repair and maintenance of the plant facility. Involves some troubleshooting of (PLC) programmable logic controllers. This job also requires the ability to climb and work at heights up to 20ft.
Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems following specifications, blueprints, and manuals and schematics,
Repair and maintain physical plant facility by performing tasks involving general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and woodworking.
Education and Experience
This position requires that the employee have at least a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and 1-3 years related experience and/or training in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
The position requires the skills and knowledge needed to diagnose, repair and maintain machinery and manufacturing equipment such as motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and electronic systems, tools, conveyor systems, automated production machines and other equipment using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
Must have applied knowledge of PLC’s , mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and electronics.
The employee must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and be able to read and comprehend technical manuals and blueprints.
Requires some skills in computer controlled manufacturing and ability to operate and troubleshoot some CNC and PLC devices and to be familiar with hand assembly as well as automation.
Some skills in computer and software applications are needed.
