A Corporate Sales Development Manager is required for a permanent position working in a well-established Waste Management business. The role is primarily to convert customer orders into actual on-site services. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced waste professional where you will be able to bring some new ideas to the table. You will play a pivotal role within the company and must be comfortable communicating with colleagues at all levels.
Building relationships with existing clients to improve service and responding to any underlying customer concerns.
Develop one or more 'show piece' sites as leverage with potential new customers.
Develop relationship with both existing and pipeline customers to achieve agreed roll-out of operational services to maximise the conversion rate and achieve profit margins.
Optimising quality of service from local suppliers to agreed SLA's and profit margins.
Plan supplier sourcing activities to agreed budgets. Look for novel methods of improving recycling rates for the customers. Taking customers on tours of novel recycling / reprocessing facilities.
Manage supplier costs and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the contracts.
Record work and set them up on systems to ensure correct invoicing and supplier payment.
Provide summary report of analysed and profit for your portfolio.
Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment doing ad-hoc inspections of all equipment and fixtures provided to the sites.
Undertake annual duty of care audits with subcontractors and disposal sites.
Ensuring these relationships with customers reducing exposure to potential bad debts. Manage cash flow from the customers and undertake dispute resolution as required.
Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods.
Working with Sales and Marketing teams to introduce new communications methods to engage the customer base.
Skills and General Experience:
A background in waste and recycling with a number of years' experience in account management and Corporate New Business would be a distinct advantage.
Understanding the life cycle from customer generation to final recovery aspects of waste and recyclates.
Commercial awareness with an entrepreneurial flair in order to spot new opportunities for selling on or sourcing materials for your sites.
Self-motivated, self-confident, enthusiastic and resilient, with a flexible approach to working and the ability to plan and prioritise your workload. Showing great communication skills with suppliers, customer and peers alike.
Experience of managing key clients on large contracts and ability to produce a P&L for each customer. Experience in delivering and improving health and safety standards for the clients.
