Our client are an integral part of an Alliance that will deliver between £6 and £9 billion of Investment over the next 15 years. The Alliances will collectively deliver every kind of work for the largest Water and Water Recycling company in England and Wales, by geographic area.

This is a tremendous opportunity to work for one of the largest privately owned Civil Engineering and Infrastructure specialists with over 35 years experience in water, transport, the built environment and energy sectors.

They are a Tier 1 partner for blue chip, regulated and private clients. They work as part of large frameworks, joint ventures and alliances developing long standing relationships based on Trust, Integrity & Pride.

However you MUST have recent UK experience on a similar project and in a similar role.


You will be responsible for the delivery of multiple on-going projects, to the specified quality and programme and to achieve maximum commercial performance. This will involve working closely with the Estimating Department, Engineers & Surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner, whilst customer requirements and expectations are maintained or exceeded.

Key responsibilities will include;

* Produce financial forecast, monitoring and controlling project costs and cost reporting and produce monthly reports to Contracts Managers on project performance, efficient team building and labour organisation.

* Deliver projects from design phase to completion.

* Review progress, budget resources and forward planning.

Review work packages and ensure scope of work is clearly defined and understood.

Build and maintain good relationships with the customer, framework suppliers and design consultants.

Develop engineering solutions in order that a buildable cost effective construction solution is delivered to fulfil the client's requirements.

Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, risk assessments, method statements, site waste management plans and procurement of plant and materials are in line with company procedures.

Maintain commercial tension to drive out cost.


Applications are invited from professional individuals possessing previous water experience with the expertise of safe, profitable and timely delivery of a wide array of technically complex and challenging water / utility projects.

Considerable experience in Civils/Water Engineering.

Excellent working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting.

Knowledge of the NEC contract including Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms.

Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering.

Excellent communication, people and team management skills.

Able to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.

Able to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance.

Problem solving and analytical thinking.

Ability to demonstrate the right behaviours and lead the team to ensure the culture is in line with the Company values.

Ability to lead and motivate the team to ensure high levels of compliance.

Qualifications required:

Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

CEng MICE or equivalent - ideally.

CSCS Managers card.


NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

Knowledge of Primavera P6 software.

Knowledge of JCT form of contract.


£55k -65k plus benefits
