Senior Quantity Surveyor - Contractor - London|
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Benefits
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a successful, market-leading Environmental contractor in the commercial sector. You will join an expanding team working on a wide variety of projects for major national and international companies. The main contractor offers a wide range of services, including heavy metal and hydrocarbon remediation, removing asbestos on a large scale, marine restoration, ground re-engineering and environmental protection.
Recent projects have included the diversion of a river, ground re-engineering for a residential housing development, and the remediation of high levels of cyanide at a major UK site.
In your role as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to advice on commercial interests with clients, reviewing and managing contracts, leading the financial management of projects, and liaising directly with clients and the company directors. Your key duties as the Senior Quantity Surveyor will include:
* Preparing and managing sub-contracts
* Performing cost management of projects, including analysis forecasting and mitigation
* Visiting sites and negotiating with sub-contractors
* Preparing monthly financial reports for the board of directors
To be successful in this position as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will ideally have:
* Around 3-5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with some experience with earthworks or remediation
* Experience with cost management
* Experience with contract administration
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A full UK driving licence is required for the role, as regular visits to sites are essential.
