Salary: Up to £28,000 + benefits including company car/car allowance

We are currently recruiting for a Trainer to join our communications division on a permanent basis in Billingham.

As Trainer you will be responsible for the ongoing training and development of new and established Installation Technicians and Managers working for McNicholas on the Virgin Media contract. The role requires a flexible approach to working and involves travel around the whole Virgin Media project sites.

Main Responsibilities:

•Maintain and develop training facilities (within authority) to meet or exceed the requirements of McNicholas/Client or an awarding body
•Maintain and develop existing or new training material to meet standards/criteria of McNicholas/Client/awarding body
•Maintain and update accurate records of all training/learning and development/coaching/support events utalising the appropriate documentation and databases.
•Ensure a professional approach is taken in all interactions and that the standards, values, culture of McNicholas, client or awarding body are promoted positively at all times.
•Assist the Senior Trainer in the development and planning of support activities
•Carry out gap analysis and be able to provide possible solutions at a local level with managers when required.
•Adopt a proactive approach to the provision and support of customer/client base and in the provision of agreed solutions.
•Carry out required assessments in accordance with the regulations/standards/requirements set out by McNicholas/Client or an awarding body.
•Responsibility for ensuring the welfare and H&S of people either on courses or visiting a training facility are met and are in line with the policies of McNicholas
•Ensure Training facility notice boards where applicable are maintained and updated
•Ensure correct and accurate details of courses and or associated course documentation such as passport photos, birth certificates are provided with in time scales agreed to interested parties such as but limited to, HR, Team Asset, Admin.
•Maintain a record of work time use by completing by the end of each calendar month the training time report on the training share drive.
•Ensure that consideration is given and due diligence exercised in all aspects of work to include but not limited to, costs, environmental impact, H&S, Equality and discrimination.
•Provide, Training, coaching, learning and development support/solutions (with in scope of professional competence) where required across the McNicholas company.
•Ensure critical knowledge and skill sets are kept up to date such as those of client or awarding body, relevant changes to laws, which would affect information trained or invalidate assessment.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous installation and service experience of all Virgin Media products and services, hold a training/coaching/instruction qualification (NVQ level 2 or above) as well as exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
