An exciting opporunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Information Manager to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in Reading initially until March 2017 offering up to £450 per day ltd.

Main Duties

Have a robust understanding of the specialised services intelligence landscape including: service specifications for specialised commissioning, the prescribed specialised services manual, the complex care agenda, Payment by Results (PbR) and the Identification Rules (IR) solution

Have a robust understanding of the wider NHS intelligence landscape including: NHS data, data flows and quality, commissioning, performance, data management, data reporting and presentation, contract management processes, schedule 6 and DQIPs, information governance, information strategy and operational data policies and guidance

Support the development of currencies and tariffs, in collaboration with external organisations including Monitor and wider NHS England staff

Liaise with regional QIPP leads to identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and application across a regional footprint

Essential Experiece

Educated to degree level in relevant subject area or equivalent level of experience working at a similar level in specialist area;

Must have an understanding of the background and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this;

Extensive knowledge of the NHS costing and payment regime and the relationship between NHS England and Monitor in setting tariffs;

Responsible for provision of regional and local financial informatics and analytical support: leading on and managing any issue relating to information and analysis needed to support effective management of providers in conjunction with finance and supplier manager colleagues

Regularly present to a range of colleagues, giving persuasive explanations of complex concepts orally and in writing to a range of audiences, in a clear and compelling manner

Demonstrate the ability to think creatively when developing solutions to intelligence and informatics issues

Organise and structure problems and develop appropriate analytical solutions, analysing and triangulating data in innovative ways, and adapting approaches to deal with ambiguity

Be highly numerate, with experience and understanding of a wide variety of analytical methods and their application, to provide high quality, timely analysis and intelligence

Have good project management skills, including the ability juggle competing priorities and tight deadlines for self and team, and work autonomously to drive own work programme and that of team members.
