This position is being advertised on behalf of Riverside Recruitment UK Limited who operate as an employment business.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for one of our key national clients for a Mechanical Fitter. Looking for someone to start ASAP our clients business is expanding and so needs to add to their team. Your role will be

To carry out installation, maintenance and repair of various engineering systems in a medium engineering environment.

Key Attributes:
City and Guilds engineering qualification, recognised time-served apprenticeship. Preferred experience in carrying out testing and inspection, corrective / reactive maintenance and installation works. Experience of equipment isolation procedures and in pneumatics/hydraulics..

Core Duties:
To carry out testing and inspection and rectifications works
To assemble, install, test, certify and maintain equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures
To have excellent fault finding techniques in emergency breakdown or planned situations
To diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
To monitor, adjust and identify faults as required
To inspect mechanical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes
To have good clear reporting / communication skills of work carried out, further work needed, parts used and parts needing replaced
To repair or replace equipment and fixtures using hand tools and power tools to include minor building work and making good
To carry out PPM & lubrication schedules
To have a good knowledge of safe systems of work and ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standards
To install and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, gearboxes, motors, conveying equipment & PLC controlled systems / machinery

Desirable Technical Skills:
Computer Literate
Competent in fabrication and welding procedures

Working Hours- You will be expected to work shifts 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am nights on a rota basis.
