Manufacturing Quality Engineer

You will work as part of the Manufacturing team within Magnesium Elektron.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure the quality of all products produced at Magnesium Elektron meet all customer expectations. This role will be expected to work closely with all departments to maintain and improve manufacturing activities to ensure compliance with our AS9100 quality management system.

Main responsibilities:

- Ensuring day to day product and process quality requirements are understood and achieved.
- Ensuring all quality and KPI data is captured and analysed against targets taking action on adverse variation to standard.
- Reducing the number of internal and external customer complaints per annum
- Involvement in effective root cause analysis of internal and external non-conformances to identify and implement corrective action plans.
- Ensure effective close out of all identified manufacturing corrective actions.
- Identify relevant Quality-related training needs and producing training material and training staff involved in the processes.
- Providing informal and 'on the job' training, coaching and mentoring to operators responsible for quality.
- Supporting the internal auditing activities.
- Maintain and improve management of quality records.
- Ensure effective close out of all identified manufacturing corrective actions.
- Oversee the review of existing manufacturing procedures and the production of new procedures as required.
- Production and maintenance of all visual manufacturing quality metrics.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

- HNC or degree level in an engineering or quality related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing quality ideally in the aerospace industry.
- Experience working with the following standards: ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.
- Experience of using MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.


- Auditing qualification.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- Competent in the use of a wide variety of measuring equipment
