Our client is a UK leader in delivering Power Cable Installation & Civil Engineering Infrastructure, and is currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team with regards to commercial performance, resource and stakeholder management. Located in Inverness but may be required to travel to other company locations to meet the needs of the business and/or project.
• Experience in commercial management of self-delivery resources (labour, plant and materials)
• Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accrual calculations
• Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis
• Ability to meet deadlines without compromising on quality
• Generates good working relationships with Clients and Consultants to foster repeat business
• Operate the systems necessary to manage the contract effectively
• Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements
• Provide support to the site team on contract requirements
• Work closely with buyer and others to ensure best value subcontract packages are secured
• Production of cost value reconciliation reports and forecast cash recovery and ensure both are kept in line with target
• Ensure applications for payment and invoices are completed and submitted to ensure payment is
• made to terms and within work in progress (WIP) and cash targets
• Manage subcontractor accounts including preparation of subcontracts and payments
• Liaise with the customer, customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments
• Carry out monthly project cost and value reviews and assist accurate and timely cost allocation
• Carryout detailed project cost to completions from start to end of project
• Financial closure of projects ensuring all costs and value are allocated in correct systems in a timely and consistent manner
• All other duties as may be assigned

Essential Qualifications:
• HND/BSC in Quantity Surveying
• CSCS Card
Desirable Qualifications:
• RICS or willing to become member of RICS
• Valid UK driving licence

• Ability to deliver multiple small to medium sized projects and possess the organisational skills required to do so to demanding deadlines
• Experience in encouraging team work

Knowledge & Skills:
• Knowledge of conditions of contract including NEC and JCT forms
• Knowledge of variety of civil engineering methods
• Previous experience with SAGE or similar accounting package would be desirable but not essential.

• Effective communication skills
• Effective leadership and team-building skills
