Highways Project Manager - Motorway Communication required|
Location - Central (Travelling required)
To work with the operations team to deliver contract requirement on site. To include renewable, ICP, HV, OHL and highway electrical, or technology.
Responsible for contract performance.
To support site teams & Commercial department to ensure return on projects is maximized.
Must have a good understanding and experience of communication on high speed roads.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
•To ensure compliant economical programmes are submitted subject to contract requirement to the satisfaction of ourselves and the Client
•Assist in the preparation of project resource forecast to enable the commercial department to determine cost certainty
•Ensure materials purchased comply with specification drawings and conditions of contract
•Ensure that the necessary labour, plant and transport are available to carry out the tasks in hand subject to constraints and is used efficiently
•Prepare and submit operational reports on a monthly basis for each contract
•Jointly responsible with commercial to ensure documented filing systems for each operational contract is updated & maintained
•Ensure materials purchased comply with specification drawings & conditions of contract
•Manage the recruitment & selection of team members, identify succession plans and manage employee issues with support from HR department
•To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans
•To comply with the Company's Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
•To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job Description
•Experience in the construction of Highways works and motorways, including excellent project management experience
•Strong planning/programming experience
•NRSWA for Supervisors and SMSTS / NEBOSH / NVQ
•Good knowledge and understanding of NEC contracts
•Highly organised with excellent time management skills
•A proactive problem solver, which a keen eye for detail and a questioning mind
•Excellent communication skills, including being polite, persuasive and determined without being rude or aggressive
•Strives for high standards, business excellence and continuous improvement
•Excellent team management skills, with experience of managing multi-disciplined staff, both internal and subcontractors
•Able to work as part of a wider management team
•Understand importance of Health, Safety and Environmental issues and demonstrates excellence in practice
•Degree or higher level qualification in relevant discipline
•25 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays
