A large coatings manufacturer, are looking to recruit an Electrically Biased Maintenance Technician to join their site based in Birtley. This company is a true market leader in high performance, advanced solutions.
As an Electrically Biased Maintenance Technician, you will carry out reactive and planned maintenance in a potentially hazardous area. Delivering CompEx work in terms of inspections and meeting statutory inspections, you will conduct maintenance both planned and reactive to automated and semi-automated machinery. Working with Siemens S7 PLC's for pneumatic work, you will operate all aspects of •machine setting, tool changing, and the overseeing machine issues as well as working with valve systems, sensors, switches, gates, etc. Flexible enough to carry out other maintenance duties throughout the site including facilities, you will also maintain production and reduce downtime as well as repair and maintain packaging machinery such as shrink wrapper, stretch wrappers, labelling machines, etc.
To succeed within this role, you will be a Time Served Maintenance Technician (with Electrical Bias) and be Electrically Tested and Inspection Qualified. CompEx is preferred due to the potentially explosive nature of the environment (however with the right candidate the company may pay for applicants to attain their CompEx). A strong knowledge of pneumatic systems, hydraulics, and compressed systems is key and you will be well versed in the knowledge of ink jet/bar code systems also.
In return, you will receive a salary within the region of £30K-£35K depending on experience, this role will suit applicants who have worked within the chemical, pharmaceutical, offshore, manufacturing and FMCG based industries.
This is a permanent role and centres on a continental shift pattern working 12-hour shifts (days/nights). The role also comes with additional overtime paid at time & 1/2, 24 days holiday plus statutory, monthly bonus profit share scheme and a matched contribution pension scheme.
