WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is seeking a Regional Business Manager for the West region of our transportation business. The Regional Business Manager is responsible for driving growth and operating performance for the region, which encompasses five states: California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Hawaii. The firm provides consulting, planning, design engineering, program management and construction management to the highway, rail, transit, aviation, and ports, marine & coastal subsectors.

Responsibilities of the position include oversight of operations conducted in [12] primary offices and major project sites that are led by Area Managers or senior project managers. The Regional Business Manager is responsible for assuring proper levels of staffing, for effective execution of our quality systems, for strategic development within the region and for monitoring project financial performance. The Regional Business Manager will also be responsible for ensuring implementation of the firm's safety, ethics, and compliance programs.

Approximately 50% of the Regional Business Manager's activities will be externally focused including the developing and managing key client relationships, building pipeline, and maintaining a strong brand image for WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff within the industry. Internal responsibilities will focus on leading the firm's marketing, delivery and management performance throughout the Southwest region. Specific responsibilities for this position include:

Business Management
      • Create the annual operating plan for the region for approval by the transportation sector President
      • Key performance targets in the operating plan will include funded contracts, net revenue, operating margin and EBITDA
      • Manage performance to achieve the targets in the operating plan
      • Effectively and strategically manage the employees in the business unit
      • Create a culture of collaboration to maximize the performance of firm across all business units
Business Development
      • Develop an organization committed to growth
      • Recruit and retain senior management, business development and technical talent
      • Form and maintain senior executive relationships with key clients
      • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic teaming partners
      • Develop and oversee the implementation of civic and political engagement plans for each office
      • Develop new business leads
      • Participate in negotiations to secure contract awards

Job Requirements
      • Bachelor in engineering, business or related field. Masters a plus.
      • Minimum 15 years of transportation consulting/engineering experience, including at least five years of successful experience in client relations and business development and management role for a multi-state region
      • Specific regional expertise in transportation and established relationships with local teaming partners and key client decision makers
      • Demonstrated experience in leading and winning large strategic pursuits.
      • Excellent communication skills (presenting and writing)
      • Organized, self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
