My clients' water team are looking for an Assistant Modelling Engineer to work as part of a small modelling team with responsibility for all aspects of wastewater / water network modelling projects, making use of experience and expertise to carry out more complex sections of the project under supervision.|
Familiarity with various InfoWorks CS or Infoworks ICM
Core duties and responsibilities:
•Assist in the preparation of the Scope of Services /Proposal documents including any post tender negotiations
Project Start-up -
•Assist as required in clarifying the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy
•Assist with technical elements of the Project Management Plan
•Attend internal project start-up meeting as required
Project Delivery -
•Construction and verification of wastewater / water network models together with all associated reporting.
•Undertake analysis of wastewater / water networks and associated reporting
•Undertake audits of less complex models
Data Analysis -
•Manage site survey work, gathering data and information as required
•Analyse surveys and reports
•Prepare and collate schedules, reports and survey data
•Assist at Client meetings
•Liaise with 3rd parties on-behalf of project teams as required
•Liaise with sub-contractors as required
•Deal with / respond to customer / 3rd party enquiries
Project Close-out -
•Attend ‘close out meeting’ with the client
•Assist with improvements to technical policy, processes and design solutions and share via the knowledge management channels as appropriate.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
•Have basic knowledge of the management of smaller projects, both financially and technically
•Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors.
• Have basic experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, construction supervision and administration.
• Familiarity with various InfoWorks, MapInfo and MS Office software packages.
•Recognised academic qualifications, Degree, HND, HNC
•To have/or to be working towards a recognised professional qualification and membership of appropriate professional bodies
•Ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required
•Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met
•Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions
