Our clients have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer/Manager to join their growing team. This position, reporting directly to the Plant Manager will have responsibility for the development of the Manufacturing Quality Control activities which includes the identification, planning, deployment and maintenance of the Manufacturing Quality Control program. |
Responsibilities of the role extend to ensuring that Quality Control processes are effectively implemented and monitored to ensure outgoing quality levels are maintained and continuously improved in conjunction with relevant functional Global Supply Chain (GSC) and Line of Business (LoB) teams
The successful candidate will have responsibility for proactively ensuring quality control activities are maintained and improved to exceed customer expectations. Primary objectives will include the development, implementation and maintenance of quality control strategies to ensure Out Of Box (OOB) failures are proactively reduced to a negligible level without the need to impose additional quality costs. This position is also responsible for ensuring Manufacturing processes and procedures are maintained and compliant with industry standards including ISO 9001, as well as relevant regulatory and Schneider GSC specific requirements.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving forward the Manufacturing quality performance by implementing metrics, deriving and implementing action plans and coordinating continuous improvement activities as required to exceed mutually agreed goals. This includes co-ordination on I2P [Issue to Prevention] with suppliers over any supply quality activities identified from the manufacturing quality metrics and ensuring root cause resolution using 8D methodology.
•Ensure any manufacturing and supplier quality issues are dealt with effective with root cause diagnosis, and information leading to appropriate corrective / preventive action using 8D methodology.
•Participate and lead manufacturing continuous improvement [kaizen] initiatives.
•Implement and maintain key metrics, service levels and benchmarking initiatives to continuously improve Manufacturing and Supplier quality performance within the factory.
•Prepare and submit monthly Manufacturing Quality metrics and report.
•Effectively define, plan, implement and maintain quality control activities
•Ensure relevant quality control processes and procedures are effectively deployed and maintained
•Support the Production Manager in the day to day activities of quality control resources to ensure productivity and quality performance goals are achieved
•Support the production manager in the development and coaching of the Quality Control resources
•Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance of Manufacturing quality processes and procedures ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements
•Investigate, analyse and report on Manufacturing 'special case' product and process failures.
•Define and implement action plans to improve manufacturing process robustness using PFMEA
•Support departmental policies, procedural objectives and requirements
•Work in conjunction with Cluster Global Quality Leads and Managers to ensure an integrated approach to providing ’best in class’ solutions.
•Interact with Quality professionals across the company to share best practice and capitalise on synergies.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
•Demonstrated experience in a Manufacturing environment.
•Relevant supervisory or management experience in Manufacturing and / or Operations or similar position, with an emphasis on either / or manufacturing / design / supply chain / service / quality.
•ISO 9001 awareness and practical application.
•Degree educated or HNC/D in Engineering, preferably Electronic, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
•Quality experience in a regulated industry and engineering experience in a process based industry preferred.
