About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
AECOM's Regina office is currently looking to hire a Senior Infrastructure Design Engineer. The position requires a person capable of providing project management and design services on civil infrastructure projects including the planning, designing, construction, maintenance, and alteration of buildings, roads, parking lots, tunnels, water/sewage systems and transportation systems. Includes estimating and determining feasibility based on analysis of maps/aerial photographs, soil composition, terrain, hydrology, geology, and environmental impact studies. Work may also include landfill, lagoons, lift stations, drainage studies, utility relocations and any other municipal infrastructure operated and maintained by our clients. Business development is another key responsibility. This position will primarily be to manage major planning and design projects, however the successful candidate may also be expected to manage infrastructure construction projects as required.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Co-ordinate the preparation of plans, tender documents, quantity calculations, costs estimates, technical reports and value analysis of alternatives relating to municipal infrastructure
  • Ensure deliverables, including all final plans and reports, have received the proper quality review by the appropriate person and that all plans and reports are properly filed
  • Familiarity with agency/regulatory approval processes
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multi-discipline projects
  • Provide contract administration during construction, including progressive payments, quantity verification, issuance of change orders, approval and monitoring of change orders, and final inspections and acceptance
  • Allocation of full time and temporary staff to multiple construction sites, including co-ordination of all necessary safety training before staff enter work site
  • Project Management of municipal infrastructure projects for adherence to budget and schedule
  • Co-ordinates quality control or quality assurance testing on projects
Business Development:
  • Prepare submissions for requests for qualification and requests for proposals
  • Maintain or expand AECOM's market share of infrastructure work in southern Saskatchewan

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Registered with APEGS or eligible to be registered
  • Extensive project management experience leading teams on civil infrastructure design and construction projects and being responsible for financial, quality and schedule management of projects
  • Team player who is willing to take ownership of the assigned work with ability to establish and meet deadlines consistently
  • Strong culture of safe work places
  • Strategic, analytical and practical thinker
  • Strong technical and proposal writing skills
  • Effective verbal communicator with ability to make presentations to groups and good listening skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP designation
  • Knowledge of infrastructure rehabilitation best practices and construction techniques
  • Knowledge of Project Management techniques
  • Knowledge of Contract Law
