Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an ES&H Manager l to support a pending industrial / manufacturing project award located in the Phoenix AZ region.

Typical Responsibilities:
• Under minimal supervision, manages, develops and implements SH&E program.
• Formulates and develops the safety health & environmental safety and health policies and program for the program.
• Supervises Environmental Safety and Health Specialists assigned to the same project.
• Recognizes, evaluates, recommends and implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with SH&E project requirements.
• Responsible for monitoring and preventing chemical, biological, physical hazards and diseases present throughout work sites.
• Reviews and incorporates health standards published by regulatory authorities.
• Ensures that quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of regulations.
• Directs audits of health and safety program to identify and control significant loss producing exposure.
• Must keep fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations.
• Develops and provides basic SH&E training to employees.
• Promotes communication programs to enhance and encourage employee awareness of accident and fire prevention, industrial hygiene and environmental compliance.
• Plan develops and directs the personnel within the Environmental Health and Safety function of the organization.
• Provides leadership direction to management and professional personnel of the organization.*Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environment, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or an applied science field or demonstrated equivalent.
  • This is a management level position requiring 8 years of construction safety related experience.
  • Previous Safety Management Experience in an Industrial / Manufacturing Environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • CSP Certified
  • Bilingual - English / Spanish both written and oral
  • Previous experience in an Automotive Construction Project
  • Previous experience facilitating safety training
