About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Air Quality Analyst for immediate employment in the San Francisco or Oakland, CA office. The candidate will assist with Civil, Environmental, Planning, and Engineering Management projects. These projects will include aspects of air quality and other EH&S aspects for a variety of facilities and construction projects as well as help with environmental assessment documents. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage air quality projects, compliance auditing, permitting and strategic regulatory analysis
  • Prepare, evaluate, and conduct peer reviews of permit applications and environmental documents
  • Negotiate permit conditions with regulatory agencies
  • Calculate quantitative air and GHG emissions calculations
  • Develop and evaluate computer modeling data
  • Assess air quality impacts under CEQA and NEPA
  • Prepare air or GHG reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop client and agency relationships
  • Pursue and develop new business
  • Participate in other environment-related projects and tasks as required

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Urban Planning or related field
  • 2 years' experience in air quality analysis
  • Exposure to preparing CEQA and NEPA air quality and GHG assessments in California
  • Strong understanding of various air district CEQA guidelines and permitting guidelines
  • Expert in performing health risk assessments
  • Experience running current generation air quality models such as AERMOD and CalEEMod
  • Expert in quantitative analyses using software (e.g., Excel)
  • Experience as a technical lead and in managing Air Quality technical reports projects and tasks

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field
  • Certification from an air quality agency, such as CPP, CAPP, or equivalent
  • Environmental certification, such as Qualified Environmental Professional, Certified Professional Environmental Auditor, or Certified Consulting Meteorologist
  • Exposure to preparing CEQA and NEPA air quality and GHG assessments in Northern California
