About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Technical Writer position for Crane, IN!
  • Review and analyze requests for deviations and waivers to determine the effects on production, configuration identification, operation, and logistics and document comments using iPDM or ePLM.
  • Prepare technical inputs for meetings such as Configuration Control Board directive.
  • Review and evaluate program management data, drawings and models for fielded systems that may impact technical manuals.
  • Analyze products including: repair standards, drawings, specifications, test plans, and procedures for the following systems: AN/SLQ-32(V)6, AN/SLQ-32(V)7, AN/SLQ-59, AN/SLQ-62, and AOEW
  • Review, provide comments, and recommendation for CDRL deliveries based on program contract Data Item Delivery (DID) requirements and program requirements for the following systems: AN/SLQ-32(V)6, AN/SLQ-32(V)7, AN/SLQ-59, AN/SLQ-62, and AOEW.
  • Analyze program support requirements to ensure that all requirements for ILS planning and implementation have been adequately addressed, and that planning adequately reflects known operational, design, and support requirements in accordance with current directives. The analysis shall primarily focus on Technical Documents, Maintenance and Training.
  • Develop and evaluate tech manuals (IETMs) utilizing approved WXM procedures, track changes and update manuals as they change, and communicate written and orally with all parties involved on the tech manual development and maintenance of the tech manuals.
  • Collaborate with the team to plan and prepare training plans and assist in developing training materials.
• Direct the classification, indexing, cataloging, and storage of books, periodicals, papers, microfiche, classified reports and documents stored on various media (including electronic). Review current literature to determine specific items or data that may be of value to Company and/or customers. Conduct research and investigations and take the necessary steps to secure such information. Provide assistance to technical personnel by conducting library research and preparing bibliographies.
  • Develop and maintain cataloging methodology to facilitate to storage and retrieval of documents stored in the library.
  • Conduct research and investigations.
  • Provide recommendations to the customer as to storage conversion and retrieval of existing documentation to electronic format.
  • Manage daily operation of Information Center.
  • Conduct on-line document reference service.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Requires the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in English or Journalism and at least 2 years of job-related experience or equivalent . Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
An Active DoD security clearance is strongly preferred. Applicant must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance within a reasonable period of time.
