Job Summary
AECOM's San Francisco, CA architecture studio is a growing practice serving a wide range of clients in varied markets, including: Commercial, Healthcare, Justice and Sports; while also collaborating with other AECOM business groups to provide integrated service offerings on a diverse range of global projects. We are looking for a creative, talented Senior Architectural Designer with an entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills to join our team.

Our B P team is leading the industry with visionary and forward-thinking projects such as the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA; Liberty Park at the World Trade Center, New York, NY; the Lower Manhattan Coastal Resilience (Big U), NY; and the LA 2024 Olympic bid.

As the Senior Architectural Designer some of the position responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
  • Develop conceptual, schematic and design development framework for building systems, cores, site plan, etc., in a team-based studio setting
  • Explore and share ideas including: drawing/sketching, model building, diagramming, 3-D work
  • Develop and write articulate design narratives
  • Use digital software in the process of design: REVIT, AutoCad, Adobe Suite, Sketchup
  • Create presentations, collaborate with other disciplines (engineers, landscape architects, urban designers) to present ideas and solutions to clients
  • Collaborate with our Design studio leader to develop a productive, creative idea- based design studio culture
  • Local involvement in the design community, academia and intellectual discourse surrounding design and architecture
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
  • 10 years' experience including 3 years in a supervisory role working on medium to large scale projects
  • Licensed Architect
  • High level of technical experience to initiate and develop conceptual, schematic and design development framework for building systems, cores, site plan, etc.
  • Client and/or public forum presentation experience
  • A Portfolio demonstrating built work with a significant authorship role
  • Leadership experience in a team-based studio setting
  • Strong conceptual design skills in exploring innovative approaches in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Understanding of Building Codes applicable to the region, working knowledge of UBC and International Building Code

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper and other advanced visualization software desirable
  • Demonstrated architectural design experience in the San Francisco bay area
  • US Citizenship preferred
  • 15 years' experience preferred
