About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. Job Summary
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Material Management Specialist for the A-TEMP (Afghanistan Technical Equipment Maintenance Program) located in Afghanistan. Manage inventory in multiple storage locations. Support outlying contractor operated maintenance facilities by ensuring parts and materials are properly picked, packaged and shipped. Complete inventory transactions and processes utilizing various automated and manual systems. Cycle count inventory. Receive and stock inventory items. Process delivery shipments for spare parts orders. Provides guidance and assistance to assigned personnel on current principles, practices, and procedures to be employed along with quantity and quality of work expected. Plans work schedules, sequence of operations, and distribution of work; designates workers and assigns work; explains work requirements, methods and procedures; and assists with resolving technical problems. Monitors repair activities to ensure all procedures are performed safely; ensures proper use of safety equipment. Ensures quality standards, techniques, and processes are in compliance with all regulatory and administrative requirements stipulated by the contract to include safety, fire prevention, occupational health regulations directives, and laws. Keeps accurate accountability for all government and company property that is required, received, stored, and used; ensures that equipment and supplies are utilized properly.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in material management.
  • Experience in automotive maintenance procedures; experience with military ground systems highly desired.
  • Must have advanced skills and diversified knowledge to solve complex technical problems.
  • Must be able to clearly and directly communicate, internally and externally, through reports, personally, by telephone, etc.
  • Must be able to counsel, guide, and evaluate the work of others in a manner that motivates the achievement of contractual goals.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Working knowledge of SIX SIGMA, and other process improvement procedures and methodologies highly desired.
  • Must be willing to travel to remote locations, and interact with various cultures, and military personnel.
