Job Summary
AECOM are seeking a Landscape Architect to join our team in Bahrain and will be required to work as part of various multi-disciplinary project teams in the design and implementation of projects.

The Landscape Architect will work with colleagues within DP E including planners, urban designers, architects, economists, environmental planners, landscape architects, graphic designers and other disciplines, as well as colleagues across the Building and Places group and all of AECOM, to deliver integrated services on a range of projects. This role requires flexibility to be able to participate in a range of projects (type and scale). Individual assignments will vary dependant on the stage of the project and could span from project inception right through project completion.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • To support the Landscape Team to assist in the production of conceptual and detailed designs and associated contract drawings, presentation drawings, schedules and specifications for landscape and urban design improvement schemes.
  • Work with other project team members to help identify appropriate solutions for landscape and public realm projects.
  • Complete drafting assignments by applying recognised design techniques, generating design under guidance and working from the designs of others.
  • Produce graphic renderings from schematics by hand or computer software.
  • Prepare and present landscape designs to clients and approving agencies including specific technical expertise in land use planning, landscape architecture and urban design.
  • Manage the preparation of packages for design solutions and / or construction delivery documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance policies and project delivery management procedures.
  • Liaise with government departments and other agencies to obtain and verify design standards and criteria, and to secure requisite approvals.
  • Provide guidance to designers and CAD technicians in the performance of their duties.
  • Manage project correspondence including technical specifications and contract documents.
  • Provide further assistance to senior staff as may be required from time to time.
  • Work with other project team members to produce design solutions and graphic representations for landscape and public realm projects.

Minimum Requirements
  • Holders of a corresponding professional accreditation/ government license an advantage.
  • Promising portfolio of built work which demonstrates technical capabilities in design, visualization, and graphic skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and, Adobe Creative Suite software packages.
  • Experience working with 3D programs such as Studio, Rhino, Sketch-up beneficial.
  • Hand drawing skills also beneficial.
  • Organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Quality and productivity in execution of duties and responsibilities, as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated innovation in design and solutions to projects.
  • Communication and teamwork skills as exhibited on projects.
  • Successful progression and achievement towards goals set forth at beginning of evaluation period.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Landscape Architecture and a minimum of 5 years' experience in Landscape Architecture, or
  • Bachelor's Degree in either Architecture or Urban Planning with a minimum 5 years' experience working on Landscape and Public Realm projects.
  • The candidate must meet the eligibility criteria for registration with COEPP in Bahrain.
