Job Summary
AECOM Spain is looking to further expand their sustainability team by appointing a BREEAM assessor and LEED consultant. Working within their Madrid offices the successful candidate will be delivering projects for high profile clients within the commercial, industrial, multi-residential, aviation and healthcare sectors.
The candidate will possess a Masters in Architecture and at least five years of professional experience in similar roles, being a licensed BREEAM Assessor (commercial or residential) and having training in LEED certification. Specialization in sustainability, green building and energy efficiency and is required, with an up to date knowledge of the latest techniques and market trends in the sector. Experience in energy modelling software (IES, Designbuilder, etc.) will be an asset for the candidate.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in the management and delivery of BREEAM assessments, from initial pre design stage through to post construction, preferably of BREEAM commercial and residential schemes.
The role will typically include:
  • Managing BREEAM and LEED assessments from feasibility stage through to project completion
  • Perform energy modelling of projects
  • Providing sustainability support to clients in a wide range of areas including; sustainability strategies, renewable feasibility studies, building performance, whole life carbon assessments
  • Climate adaptation / mitigation strategies
  • Providing advice to clients/ design teams on the most cost-effective and beneficial route to compliance
  • Preparing bid documents, proposals and marketing materials such as commercial presentations, capability statements, etc.
  • Interact with members of the other business lines and external clients at all levels
  • Facilitating workshops with a broad range of stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements
  • Flexibility and adaptability for working on different tasks and projects within the architectural team (not exclusively sustainability assignments)
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize when necessary, proactivity and self organization skills
  • High level in English, both written and spoken
  • Confident with an ability to assimilate within a team and maintain/develop the business
  • Experience of working with design teams on a range of commercial and public projects
  • Good understanding of building services and common industrial processes
  • A keen interest in energy efficiency and related environmental legislation
