Job Purpose
This role sits within our Managed Cloud Services business (MCS) and will be assigned to a major new account win for HDS as part of the customer's MCS program management team. The role is responsible for ensuring an effective storage capacity management, order process management and services (including configuration) that runs smoothly for both HDS internally and the customer. This enables HDS to ensure additional costs are kept to a minimum and to safeguard potential revenue streams, whilst adhering to contractual obligations to the customer.
The Cloud Infrastructure Capacity & Configuration Manager takes accountability for tracking installed storage capacity and aligning with the growth forecast in order to proactively identify capacity expansions and initiate the internal processes to support them. They will also provide critical information for monthly invoicing based on closed orders.

Leading the customer MSS program management team. Responsible for smooth customer and internal order process for both storage capacity and services (including configuration). Keeps costs as low as possible while maximizing revenue streams, while adhering contractual obligations. Provides information for monthly invoicing based on closed orders. Tracks installed storage capacity and aligns with growth forecast and customer demand in order to proactively identify capacity expansions.

• Design HDS storage solutions in accordance to the technical design guide in the MCS program.
• Define, agree, maintain and improve order and capacity management processes and tools for the customer program.
Managing to agreed SLA's for all incoming requesting customer capacity and service orders.
• Involve and inform key stakeholders: Customer (HQ and local sites), Program Director, Contract Manager, Finance Manager, Project Manager, Change Manager and Service Delivery Manager.
• Participate in Capacity and Forecast Meetings internally and externally.
• Ensure Hitachi quality standards are met by maintaining a high standard of professionalism at all times and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
• Exposure to on boarding the new large complex Managed Cloud Service projects and programmes
• Coorperate and consult Technical teams on design enhancements of new and updated services as developed within HDS
• Experience with / Exposure too working in high risk, technical environments and with challenging customers.
• Constantly looking after a maximization of Return of Investment (ROI)
• Train members of the Order & Capacity team in order to make them better
• Manage incoming work streams, prioritize team work assignments, and ensure commitments are consistently achieved in alignment with company priorities.
    Develop, collect, and evaluate KPI's including but not limited to infrastructure efficiency, reliability, supportability, team capacity and team performance.

Promotes and ensures a high level of technical excellence in the Infrastructure Services staff that is in keeping with a high-performing organization
    Ensures that standards are defined for technical excellence. Defines and promotes best practices and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement in the product infrastructure. Helps ensure the staff have the training and tools they need to ensure customer delight with our product. Continuously seek to identify inefficiencies and gaps in existing internal and cross functional processes. Engage with peers to develop & implement improvements and measure against success criteria. Aligns technical training opportunities with project roadmap and architectural and compliance needs. Ensures optimal staffing and talent requirements for the teams are met to achieve company outcomes. Provide data and justification to support optimal staffing and talent levels.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HDS cultural values
and performance principles
    Planning, assigning and directing work for direct reports; Setting reasonable stretch performance goals, providing constructive, balanced, regular performance feedback, and conducting semi-annual performance appraisals; Recognizing and rewarding performance excellence; Engaging in talent discussions with direct manager. Collaborating with direct reports on their professional development and growth.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience building and leading high performance technical infrastructure teams
  • Supervise opening and closing of the Requests at the appropriate time.
  • Must be service oriented focus is Managed Cloud Service (MCS)
  • Good understanding of the concepts, technologies, cost management and benefits of the Cloud Infrastructure Capacity & Configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of Service & Change Management principles (ITIL Framework)
  • Effective decision-making skills, even under pressure and while lacking all of the desired information detail.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and willingness to travel
  • Excellent customer and employee relationships - must be able to interact successfully with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels in the organisation
  • Communications: Must be an excellent communicator. Must have excellent skills with English (additional languages preferred), and be able to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Good human relation to interact with clients and team members
  • Proven ability to interact and co-ordinate multi-skilled teams both internally and at the customer and required third parties
  • Ability to assess, manage and find solutions complex situations balancing HDS and the customer needs.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Good understanding of Data Center technology.
  • Some level of understanding of storage technology including SAN and NAS.
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
