We are seeking an experienced Operational & Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to be based in Leeds. Who can demonstrable a broad depth of knowledge of power plant operation and maintenance across many technologies - Ideally, substantial experience of working in a power plant discipline e.g. substantive role in maintenance, engineering, operations or resource planning departments. Operational & Maintenance Engineer
Reporting to the Director of Engineering - UK & Ireland the post holder will be responsible for developing the strategic direction, delivering change and achieving the required overall strategic and planned business performance from the region against the demanding requirements of the UK & Ireland Business Plan. The post holder shall be able to provide compelling solutions to complex technical problems in developing final project technical arrangements, playing a key role in the project management. The post holder is required to support the Existing assets, by providing O&E technical & commercial expertise for the portfolio, and also advising on O&E costs and plant performance
Key Accountabilities:
•To review and asses the best regional and international practices, identify new opportunities and process programmes that will maintain availability and reduce plant operating costs
•Provide a consistent approach to maintaining Engineering standards and procedures across Engineering and Maintenance activities in a diverse portfolio of European assets
•Support the regional due diligence team with review and assessment activities of new developments, acquisitions, major upgrades and projects
•Carry out bench marking of the current assets portfolio against the company and international performance and advice on solutions for improvement
•Carry out the role of project manager as required on major projects
•Provide the existing managers within the UK & Ireland region with mechanical engineering support
•Provide assistance with preparation, progressing, review and submission of mechanical specifications and tender assessments on major projects.
•Give a qualified assessment of mechanical designs, studies and reports
•Works Witness testing of Manufacturers equipment and Contractor's installation and attending works progress meetings
•Support Renewable development by review and assessment of wind turbine supply agreements, wind farm project mechanical compliance requirements, Mechanical installation contracts, etc.
•Enhance the effectiveness of the production / engineering interface and delivery of key Capex, MRR and plant improvement projects. Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators:

•Health, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance, insurance and audit compliance
•Continuous improvement demonstrated
•A positive relationship with asset management teams
•Evidence of technical and commercial performance improvement
•Provision and implementation of a comprehensive technical business plan
•Long-term risk assessments for plant compliance and integrity Dimensions of job:
•Fully responsible for delivery of the technical aspects of the large value, complex projects EPC contracts ( value circa £100m to £ 500m ) within UK & Ireland region
•Fully responsible for the technical support across a diverse range of technologies within the UK & Ireland region
•The role will involve being highly focused on achieving required levels of performance within the planned budgetary constraints
•The scope of the role will extend to cover all operational assets under the control of the regional and additionally to development or acquisition of assets within the project development team
•Responsible for provision of all technical information/inputs into project model, project team, ICOM papers
•Identify and deliver solutions to technical problems in development of competitive O&M contract that ensure risk reward balance is the best available for Companies Key relationships.
•Demonstrable knowledge of power plant mechanical equipment and systems
•Energy and drive to meet personal objectives, with an open, transparent style and flexible approach
•Makes sound and timely business decisions even when working with ambiguous or conflicting data

The job holder will have experience of:
•Demonstrable a broad depth of knowledge of power plant operation and maintenance across many technologies - Ideally, substantial experience of working in a power plant discipline e.g. substantive role in maintenance, engineering, operations or resource planning departments
•Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities in a senior role
•Processes detailed knowledge on the company's methods, procedures and philosophy
•Fully understands the financial and commercial aspects of the business
•Demonstrate knowledge of business development
•A sound understanding of Project management and demonstrated Project or task delivery

•An engineering degree and a member of a professional institute eg IMechE
•Experience and knowledge of mechanical engineering in modern power stations or a similar industry
•Extensive in depth knowledge of power plant engineering and design, operations and maintenance practice Behavioural Capabilities:
