They are currently seeking a suitably experienced Commercial Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, offering a competitive salary and attractive benefits.
The successful candidate will be overseeing and maintaining responsibility for managing a commercial team for multiple projects. They will ensure the maximisation of project margins, adding value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement and cost management. Ensuring the team drive best value from suppliers and subcontractors. They will be overseeing monthly financial reviews on projects and forecast final out turn values for cost, sales and margin. Maximising value of monthly applications and measurement and submission of contract variations. They will be Client facing and successfully negotiate final accounts with Client, main contractor and subcontractors.
To manage a commercial team, overseeing and coordinating for multiple projects. You will ensure that commercial business processes are adhered to at project level. You will be the point of contact to advise project staff on commercial and contractual matters. Core Duties will include:
Managing and producing accurate formal reports in accordance with business timetable
Monitoring all commercial information in relation to project including labour, material, prelim and sub-contractor cost forecasting thus ensuring budgets adhered to.
Supplying all relevant information to the Associate Commercial Director for review at the specified intervals set.
Assisting the associate Commercial Director with a range of other duties as may be required from time to time.
The ideal Candidate:
You will be highly adept at managing and working within a team based environment. You be able to communicate regularly and efficiently with project staff and specialist subcontractors to ensure commercial controls are in place, understood and followed at all times.
You must be Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales. Be excellent at Multi-tasking, self-motivated, promote and practice a flexible and adaptable approach to work. Have good practical organisation skills. Be able to provide both summarised and detailed reports, on current activities.
You must hold a BSc or HNC in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management related discipline. Consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrable commercial experience in place of the specified qualifications.
You must hold a minimum 10 years quantity surveying experience within an MEP contracting organisation that has operated within the residential/commercial fit out/data centre sectors.
You must have demonstrable experience in JCT contracts and extensive experience in managing a project commercial team
You must be IT literate and highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project programs.
