They are currently seeking a suitably experienced site based Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis, offering a competitive salary and attractive benefits.
Your main duty will be to maximise project margin and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting. To drive best value from suppliers and subcontractors. Carrying out financial reviews on projects and forecast final out turn values for cost, sales and margin in a timely manner. Maximising value of monthly applications and measurement and submission of contract variations. Assisting in the submission and negotiation of final accounts to the client / main contractor and subcontractors.
Assisting in carrying out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.
Preparation and monitoring of project cashflow forecasts.
Measure, value, submit and assist in negotiating contract variations.
Assisting in the preparation of submitting and negotiating project final accounts.
Certification of subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts.
Ensure that business commercial processes are adhered to at project level.
Assist in preparation and adherence to project purchasing targeting and costing budgets.
You must be able to work well within a team based environment, communicating regularly with project staff and specialist subcontractors to ensure commercial controls are in place and help ensure these are understood and followed at all times.
You will be assisting in the production of accurate formal reports in accordance with a business timetable. You will Monitor all commercial information in relation to project including labour, material, prelim and sub-contractor cost forecasting, ensuring budgets adhered to.
You will be reporting to and supplying all relevant information to the Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor in a timely manner for review at the specified intervals set and assisting them with a range of duties.
You must hold a BSc/ HNC in Quantity Surveying / related cost management discipline. Candidates with demonstrable commercial experience may be also considered. You must have a minimum of 5 years' quantity surveying experience within an MEP contracting organisation that has operated in the residential/commercial fit out/data centre sectors.
The ideal Candidate will be commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales. They will be highly proficient at multi-tasking, self-motivated with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
You will have good practical organisation skills to enable the planning of resources and programme scheduling. You must be IT Literate and highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
