They are currently seeking a suitably experienced site based Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis, offering a competitive salary and attractive benefits.

Job Purpose

To maximise project margin and add value to the construction process through proactive procurement, cost management and reporting. To drive best value from suppliers and subcontractors, conducting financial reviews on projects and forecasting final outturn values. measuring and submitting any contract variations in a timely manner, negotiating final accounts with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Surveying:

To carry out timely valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.
Prepare and monitor project cash flow forecasts.
Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations.
Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters
Prepare, submit and negotiate project final accounts.
Commercial vetting of Sub Contractor tenders and contracts.
Ensure that business commercial processes are adhered to at project level.
Assist in preparation and adherence to project purchasing targeting and costing budgets.

People Management:

You must be able to work well within a team based environment and maintain communication with project staff and specialist subcontractors, ensuring commercial controls are in place, understood and followed at all times.


Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with business timetable. Monitor all commercial information in relation to project. Supplying all relevant information to the Associate Commercial Director/Commercial Manager for review.

Skill Requirements:

BSc/HNC in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management. Consideration given to non-qualified candidates with demonstrable commercial experience.
Minimum 10 years Quantity Surveying experience within an MEP contracting organisation that has operated in the Residential/Commercial fit out/Data centre sectors. You must have demonstrable experience in JCT contracts.

You must be commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales. Be able to Multi-task, Self-motivated, an energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work. He right candidate will have good practical organisation skills. You must be IT Literate able to use Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
