Trainee Control Room Operator|
Our client is the largest independent construction materials group in the UK. They operate nearly 60 quarries, 27 asphalt plants, just under 200 ready-mixed concrete & mortar plants and three concrete block plants throughout England, Wales and Scotland, employing more than 2,100 people.
As part of their succession planning an opportunity has arisen to recruit a Trainee Control Room Operator who will work within a multi-disciplined shift team after an initial training period of approximately 12 months. The training and assessment programme to become a Control Room Operator (CRO) will combine on-the-job, in-house and external courses with time spent in the Central Control Room (CCR) with the current CROs. It is anticipated that the length of training and assessment will range from two to four years depending on the existing skills and experience of the successful candidate. Following the training programme the successful candidate will be proficient in all CCR operations and achieve Level 2 certification before progressing to Level 3 certification.
You will possess good communication and problem solving skills and be able to demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn and succeed. You must also be capable of working in a high profile role with periods of sustained focus. Flexibility regarding working hours is required at all times.
It would be an advantage for you to be able to demonstrate knowledge/experience of the following:
* Working knowledge of cement manufacturing plant and processes
* An understanding of relevant Health, Safety & Environmental issues
* Experience of working in a team
* Experience of working shifts
* User-level in relation to a range of Microsoft software packages
